The administration department has a new acting registrar,  Mr. Peter Muturi Mwai .  He was appointed in acting capacity as the Registrar Administration with effect from August 1st 2017.  These changes came about after the demise of Mr. G.P. Mbugua.  The administration department welcomes the new registrar and wishes him well as he discharges his duties.

The Gandhi Smarak Nidhi fund will offer a limited number of partial scholarships tenable at the University of Nairobi, for Masters Programmes during the 2017/2018 academic year.

Early career researchers in the disciplines of environment, agriculture and food sciences are invited to send applications for consideration to attend a workshop on ‘Strengthening Food Security through Integrated Earth Observations & Ecological Assessments of Ecosystem Services in Kenya’.

This is a workshop under the Newton Fund - Researcher Links scheme, organized by the British Council, together with University of Leicester and University of Nairobi.

Ten students from the University of Nairobi are among the 120 students flagged off by the Cabinet Secretary for Water and Irrigation, Hon. Eugene Wamalwa, for an 11-month advanced agriculture & irrigation training in Israel.

The students drawn from the College of Agriculture and Veterinary Studies (CAVS) are Dennis Tomoina, Charles Origa, Bria Apondi, Hassan Araft, Suleiman Mutuli, Charles Oduor, Peris Lusano, Grace Makumi, Esther Nyangaresi and Mohamend Olenyo.

The University of Nairobi students’ choir were crowned the best university choir in the festival and won the coveted challenge trophy. The UoN choir was number one in 5 other classes. Namely: the best overall music composition, the best arrangement pop tunes and melodies ‘zilizopendwa gospel,’ the best in mixed voices, the East African anthem, zilizopendwa from the rest of Africa, small choir class and the CBK composition class . In the special composition class, UoN took third position.
