84 University of Nairobi projects have been selected for the National Research Fund (NRF) grant 2016. Postgraduate projects selected are 38 doctoral and 28 Masters projects.
The University of Nairobi submitted 64 collaborative research proposals. 19 of these have been selected for funding.
A successful doctoral project will be funded up to a maximum of Kenya Shillings Two million (Ksh 2,000,000/=) for a period not exceeding three (3) years, Masters project will be funded up to a maximum of five hundred thousand (Ksh 500,000/=) for a period of one (1) year, while a multi-disciplinary research will be funded up to a maximum of twenty million (20,000,000) for a period not exceeding three years.
Shortlisted applicants for the multi-disiplinary projectes will be expected to offer oral presentation of their work before a panel of experts for final selection and award.

University of Nairobi teams could not be stopped in the past weekend which saw them record win after win in the various disciplines that they participated in. These games were in the continuing Nairobi South Conference of the KUSA games, also known as NASOKUSA league.
